Did a tour of Wales last month in the Roadster. Really enjoyed that a lot. Great scenery and driving roads, friendly people. Just noticed that other likeminded drivers, open top, vintage, classic, even a Morgan driver didnt respond to a wave, nod or Is that not custom?

Do a tour of Germany. Even the bikes the wave at you here. Some bloke and his missus in a Model T Ford waved at us today. The Germans just can't stop waving.

I'm usually waved at by other Morgan owners and by most classic car owners as well, which is nice. As a motorbike rider I'm well use to nodding at other riders!

I get very confused sometimes. I usually drive a Land Rover Defender and we all acknowledge each other. On the motorbike again we nearly always nod. In the Morgan more waves to other Morgans.
My problem is remembering what I am driving or riding as inappropriate nodding or waving is probably frowned upon.

I tend not to wave - for the simple reason the left hand has to do half the steering, the throttle and front brakes; the right hand does the other half of the steering, the advance/retard lever, the air lever and the gear lever.

I do nod though!

I reckon they're giving Morgan drivers the cold shoulder because of a certain Morgan driver going there & flinging their sheep around.....

OK good to know we are not the only ones. We must have just been unlucky in who we met. We will continue the habbit when in the UK. I guess NL is a bit like Germany in that respect and why not, good to counter all the (increasing?) anger and intolerance there is on the roads

I've always had return waves from Mog owners and the majority of classic car owners (ceertainly the open top ones). When in the 90 I wave at other Land Rovers (not Hippos or Discos unless tricked up, because they will be family cars not owned by enthusiasts normally). From the Defender point of view a lot of owners do not wave (I guess these are just A to B family cars too) and I don't bother waving at farmers - usually spotted with an Ifor Williams back over the pick-up bed...
I noticed in my last few years on PTWs that fewer motorcyclists acknowledged each other.
