Noooo Neil - not that one (lovely as it is)! The one I drove with Nick Baker up at The Works a short while ago fits the bill almost to a tee (other than the now dissapointingly ordinary-looking seats. Maybe I'll catch up with it again one day, when the sorting's been done, and the price has dwindled a little - or a lot

I'm with Adrian on this too.
It took a couple of years to get RTA fully sorted re: the front end after my purchase. The following 6 years of ownership have been good, including LeJog a couple of years back and the Highland Hoon this year. It's a shame won't ride in her for very long, but then it also means I get to do lots more miles in peace!!
I'll take a used example over new any day (but preferably one that has been used and not a garage queen... Hmm, that doesn't quite fit the new car!

Im with you on this Graham, as your car gets older you will still have problems, but for some reason they seem easier to fix. It may be that you expect issues with the older car and can accept them or you can update the technology and see honest results.
With a new vehicle you are offside, because you are fixing issues you expect to be OK

I think the problems get easier to fix as you get to know the car better. I'm in Budapest in my 41 year old 103,000 mile car that I've owned for 21 years. From what I've read I'm glad I'm not in a new Morgan.

When I saw 103000 miles that made me smile: I believe there is going to be a list in Miscellany of high mileage cars. I thought that at 250000 my first 4/4 would be on it but I bet there are lots out there with higher mileage. I think its wonderful.
It is an interesting topic this new/old one. I often think of a change but really like all the things I have done and would probably need to redo, unless I could have something like a Baby Doll of course. Then again the basic concept is there to develop isn't it?

I decided to buy a new Morgan having had 4 previous Morgans that were all barn and back of garage finds. They needed rebuilds from full chassis up to the usual under door treatment.
I have had more niggly problems with the new than my own rebuilds. The engine, however, has been fine and feels more reliable than the tuned Fords of the past which needed regularly tuning and attention.
Miss the fun of rebuilds but my back doesn't!

I have restored many motorcycles and one car, a Maserati, but now I really decided I wanted a new car that I could enjoy as a modern classic without the need for constant fettling. Also in Italy there can be restrictions on the use of older vehicles at times of high polution.

The Morgan is pretty much the only car manufactured today that fills that requirement. Given that I have always wanted a Morgan the final decision was not difficult. Even though we chose fairly standard colours we had a lot of fun with the spec and really enjoyed dealing directly with the factory. Since then it has been one little addition after another. I'm wondering when I will decide to stop
