Thanks for this! Am undergoing acute M3W withdrawal symptoms right now as mine is in the shop undergoing minor tweaking regarding the belt drive/bevel box. Won't get it back until this week and the weather right now is just perfect! grrrrr

Nice video, the steering wheel is 13.5in? Wondered about that myself. Nice to see that the person driving has to have their left knee right up there so as not to hit the clutch pedal! I'm not alone!

Mine is one of the early 2012 models without the limiting flange on the bevel box drive gear. All models shipped out with the belt creeping away from the gear with about 1/4 inch hanging over air. All well and good if stable but mine decided to travel. Now the belt was hitting the frame on the back of it and taking rubber off in a minor way.
Mind now, the bevel box is directly attached to the frame and any and all noises will be transmitted. Minor design boo-boo.
We are all experimental subjects! Please remember this! And have funwhen driving said units about!

I believe so. My dealer has opted for this and I agreed. Tranny is tried and proven but the bevel box is a new toy. It has a magnetic drain plug to catch bad things. Belt has stretched a bit.
Normally, if evaluating the bevel box from a distance, I would say that of course it would need to be changed at, about, maybe, kind of, 30K to 50K miles/kilometers. BUT! I don't know where this piece of kit came from. Who made it? What's its provenance? Is there a history? We have nothing. If someone could step up to the plate and give more info on just what this thing is it would be greatly appreciated!
I would love to treat it as a simple rear end in a four wheel drive but I have no clue. A simple addition of 90 weight oil would do but I just don't know.

Michael, the box is made by Quaiffe. Bespoke to Morgan I believe.
