...is "fully sorted" status ever achieved? Mind you, I'm getting there bit by bit!

Thanks Andy. No - it's not either of the B&C ones (they've got the black and red ones from whoever it was that threw in the towel. HWM was it?).

I've got tabs on the silver beauty: but unfortunately it's too soon for me. wants to move house first. Need I say more? (As an aside - what sort of cost do you reckon for a pair of those lovely seats?)

It does seem that constant fettling is part of the Morgan bug and half the charm of owning one. There are so many worthwhile upgrades available. What I find difficult is that I am mechanically illiterate and less able to do things myself ( if only I had inherited my fathers skill as a restorer of vintage cars). So I thought the safest bet for me was a new car which was likely to have less issues

At, the silver one, I saw it when I picked mine up, it does look lovely and I commented as much to Aeroman when I was there.

I will let you know what the seats cost when I get my bill I still have the originals, just need to pick them up sometime.

I would imagine that 'most' used Morgans are pretty honest cars - in that you're unlikely to find one with a dodgy history (unlike buying maybe a Ford Fiesta or something). Also there's a knowledgable crowd within the Morgan community to give advice on a used one.

I'm pretty happy with my Roadster and the build experience was very similar to the Aston one when my Vanquish was made. But I could definitely see me in an older +8 in the future - I have a hankering for the older dials, the burble of the V8, the trad body etc.

Nearly a year in to driving a Morgan, I've driven more miles and genuinely enjoyed it more than most supercars I've owned. I don't have the feeling of driving the fastest production car in the world - but to be honest those feelings were so fleeting AND risky in licence terms. In the Morgan everyone lets you out at junctions (it's true!) and tootling about on country lanes is a joy. So I can definitely see me staying with the marque... But maybe not a new one next time.

I too love the V8 sound. What a pity small V8s are no longer in production.

It appears that someone has taken umbrage with the description of their car on Go Mog.

That username is showing as a member of TM so I do not understand why he says "And without access to the forum in question. I cannot reply directly." I certainly recall seeing him posting on Talk Morgan in the past.

I have had a look at some of the old conversations between this guy and some of the regulars on TM. It makes for interesting reading, but the word " Tosser" comes to mind quite often

I hope I'm not offending any of the moderators here, but since I was one of the posters on TM and it was at least in part my post which seemed to be objected to, I'm putting up a copy of the reply I sent to GoMog. I think- and hope- it's self explanatory.
Any owners' community ( especially a small one like ours) needs two things: genuine enthusiasm for the marque and second what I might call a sense of inclusive honesty ie a forum where we can exchange information and put forward views in a constructive way. I hope I always do that. I might not always agree with others views and they might not agree with mine but it's a mutual respect thing which is important.

Anyway, here follows my deathless prose ( no response from GoMog as yet) I hope this brings this matter to a conclusion ( not least because the weather forecast is good and I want to drive my car, not argue about it):

"This is very much a reply to the long and detailed comment posted on GoMog regarding statements made on ‘another Morgan site.’

In the interests of openness and fair play, I’m happy to say that I was the writer of those comments and they were based on the best knowledge I had available to me. I had hoped that my comments would be seen in the balanced way in which they were given. Specifically, I qualified my statements by saying early on that ‘if’ the car was the one I had in mind, then my comments were as follows. I then went on to give what I believe was an even handed view of the car as it was the last time I saw it. If the car advertised was the car in question then there is no great mystery as to how or where I have seen it: at a dealers which I use for my Morgan work on a regular basis and of whom I- as I assume does the putative seller- have a very high opinion. Again, if the car I refer to is that same car, it is not surprising that I have seen it on many occasions. For at least one extended period my own car was parked next to it in that dealer’s garage!

I think what really saddens me about the GoMog post is the generally aggressive stance it takes. Surely, the whole idea when confronted with a reasonable view is to respond in similar terms. Still, whatever floats your boat I suppose

His account is live, and has never ceased to be since he joined, and thus he certainly has the ability to access TM should he choose to (which he has in recent years).
