Thanks Keith - actually your installation looks exactly the same as mine, I don't think there is any difference in the spacing. I will check with Burton Power what the stud spacing and other dimensions are on that heat shield, as it is designed for a CVH. However it is a great idea, and it looks as if it would be relatively easy to make one in aluminium backed with heat shield mat, to fix onto the manifold studs.

I see you have braided return hoses from the rad to the expansion tank!

GLLHG - will look at that too.

Does anyone know (or could measure, please), the manifold stud spacing of the CVH as compared to the Zetec (black top)?

I'm late to this but when replacing my rad with a Mulfab it did indeed drop out (with a bit of a wiggle). I do have to keep tightening the circlips to the top hose though to deal with a slight leak.

I know someone who fitted a mulfab rad and he fitted a pair of clips...why can they leak??

Different co-efficient of expansion compared to a standard rad?

But a hose connection is a hose connection or am I missing something?
