Motocyclist, betwixt glass and rim is exactly where my whistle was coming from. Exactly right! You have won a copy of "The Silence of The Lamps" for your suggestion ;-) I had taped up the headlamps before, but the side that fits against the nacelles. It's absolute bliss now. Only trouble is I can hear all he other noises now .... ;-) Great news well done for persevering and getting it sorted.

Indeed it is good news on the whistle.
As for the hood, well as several on here can attest, my canvas one on RTA took ages. Though once it's been on for a day or so isn't too bad. I think the shortest time I managed was just under 10 minutes, bearing in mind the old bench seat won't accomodate hood swivels, unless they are of a flat type (for those you'll have to see the ones Frank Orford made to fit his recently restored 4 seater).
Not sure how long my new car will take - it has a "Neverflex" hood, which still appears to have the chalk marks from the factory. I guess it has been fitted at some stage as hood swivels are also fitted.
Certainly the sidescreen probably haven't been on the car since 1998 (the date of The Times newspaper they are wrapped in!).

Yes John!!  What is your new car Graham?... Btw, G0CGD hr OM! K Wasn't a 4 seater, but a '76 2 seater that I sold. Gone up to Ormskirk. Apparently new owner is putting a private plate on it, which is a shame as its original reg was reasonably distinctive. 'New' car - haven't posted photos yet as the only ones I have belong to BHM, When it arrives - a '93 4/4, 2 seater, in Ferrari Fly Yellow, grey leather interior, 14.5k miles (too low for me - I'm expecting to have to sort various problems once I get to start using it properly). Very limited driveway width at home (and its not possible to alter), so had to stick with pre-wide winged cars. That limits me up to about 2003 or so and 4/4 only unless I go with similar early age +8 to my old car, or earlier +4. Call sign noted. There are a few of us here

Sorry where. Any pics of the fix. Sorry, I was so excited at losing my whistle I didn't think to take any pics. I was going to use draught excluder, but the only thing I could find in the garage was a length of foam type pipe lagging and some double sided tape. I cut along the length of the pipe wrap about 5mm from the split then just stuck it inside the chrome surround (which I'd removed). Being careful not to let it go too near the rim where it would show. I must check if the pipe wrap is closed cell foam or it will hold water .... Colin

Doors open, fasten front first, then lift the bars and drape the hood over them to keep them in place. Fasten down the verticals fasteners inside the "boot", then the poppers and twistie things and tighten the swivels.
Maybe you real Morganeers never put the hood up and that's why you're slower ;-)
That is interesting....I always start from the back and now the logic of your method screams out...I will certainly give it a go! Someone watching me erect mine (oo er missus!) could only add the comment that they use a bungy to hold the frame up while putting the hood. With your method - No Bungy Required!
