August 22nd...."The Day"!
We went up on a slow but scenic train from Salisbury to Yate there to be collected by Williams Morgan for the short drive to their showroom and garage.
Waiting for us was our glorious 2009 Roadster, valeted to go and looking wonderful in the sun. Zuralic Blue is one "interesting" colour, in dull light it is virtually black, but once the sun is out it is a deep blue/black with hint of purple due to the blue and red sparkley bits under the clear coat.
Paul's handover was thorough and taken at a good pace, especially the hood opening and closing process so we couldn't damage the little pins behind the doors.
We had ordered the Suplex front suspension upgrade and the drive back to Salisbury was a revelation: the front suspension has been brought almost into the 1980s! Still crashes about on the worst surfaces but on reasonable roads it is smooth, comfortable and grips well, the steering is lighter and more importantly the car goes where you point it!
Home I spent much of Friday looking over the car, there are a few bits where pedantic attention to detail suggests improvement could be made, for example the rubbers round the windscreen wiper fixing are starting to perish, so need replacing. Not a big deal but I'd like them perfect.... Also interesting to see under the bonnet where the hinge had been fettled when built to clear bits....but not touched up.
Photos to follow, but the main job is to clear the garage so she can go in at night and when there is ice about.
All in all I'm a very happy Morgan owner...a stunning car to drive and a car to play with over the winter. Life doesn't get much better..!

Great Peter...you have beaten me to it by 2 days! I'm off down there this morning to pick up my '09 Black Roadster. I'm clock watching at the moment!!
That colour of yours is glorious...as you say it seems to change due to the light falling on it. Looking forward to a few photos!

Morning Peter,
From a Zurallic RED Roadster in Cheltenham. Someone asked "Is your car red or black?" - "Yes" I said! No idea how many Zurallic cars were made, but yours is the first I have come across in two years.
Interesting you have had Suplex fitted. Different subject but Williams fitted new pads and brake reaction bars to mine a few weeks back.
Am sure you will enjoy the car - and wish Jays well for his collection today.
Cheers

I've been trying to find out more about the Zurallic paints, with no luck. Clearly a multi-coat finish that cost a lot, I wonder which main car maker used it, or of it is one that Morgan found looking at suppliers lists. The drive back on Thursday collected a load of bugs, so washing and polishing is the order of the day. But I need to go out and check all is in order first! Peter

Congraulations Peter, look forward to some photos.
You can ge the bezel rubbers cheaply from many sources....Williams might be your easist and they take only a few moments to install.

Peter,
I was told that Zurallic was first used on Aero's? Blue and red are the only variants I have come across.
As I guess the paint would be difficult to replicate and expensive to repair, Williams fixed ArmorFend for me at about £350. Another insurance policy I guess.
Cheers

The Zurallic Blue was originally used on the first Aero SS
The 'metallic' is supposed to come from small flecks of glass/crystal; however, I don't think it is distinguishable from the finish BMW achieve with their Carbon Black Metallic (blue) and Ruby Black Metallic (red). The first car did look different (almost like small balls of lighter blue in the paint) but since then, it really does look like a standard metallic paint. It might be worth checking whether MMC are using the BMW paint codes.

I have a Zurallic Blue Roadster with a mulberry interior. I know of one other Zurallic Blue Roadster with a yellowish interior along with yours now Peter.
I understand that there may also be a Zurallic green available although I have never seen one.
I understood like Simon that it was first used on the aero range. There are a few aero super sports in the colour that I know of.
It is a truly wonderful colour but the downside is that it shows all the marks.
Perhaps we should form a Zurallic club?
Enjoy your car Peter.
Jonathan
