I've been a Wine Society member for 30 years. Excellent selection and service, and all available via Internet too. Free timed delivery. Many regional tastings and shows. Not remotely comparable to the commercials such as Majestic and Laithwaites, though I use both those too.

They do have stocks of older vintages particularly Bordeaux if that's your question. You should be able to find most on their website, though you won't be able to order unless a member. They will also store wine for you at Stevenage.

You might guess that I like them.

I agree with Nigel. Laithwaites is good, but has lost focus on fine wines (in my experience).
The Wine Society though is really good, especially with Alsace, which is what we favour above all other whites. Free timed delivery option is unbeatable.

looks like I ought to sign up to the wine society and give them a try Laithwaites have had my business for a long time and to be honest have never let me down in terms of quality or delivery but of late I think the quality has possibly gone down a little. Dual source for a bit. Thanks to all those who input

Just thought I'd mention that I ordered five cases of wine from the Sunday Times Wine Club on Saturday and they arrived today....... less than a working day. I think that's impressive.

All I've got to do now is find the corkscrew wine

Andy.

Been a member since '76!
Excellent selection of wines and as a mutual society, very good value. In addition their tastings and dinners are well worth attending.
Their outlet in Montreuil-sur-Mer offers significant discounts on UK prices and is a great place to stop off - those on the Le Mans classic trips will confirm.
