Having been caught out in the elements, I can say that driving this b*tch in wet weather is not pretty. Too light, not enough rubber on the road, makes it handle like it's driving on black ice. Dry pavement is bad enough! Fun but twitchy. It is a race car with street tires that are not that sticky.
I use the Internet to follow weather and forecasts and in New England when the weather is good and I look outside and see that All Is Good, then, and only then, do I gear up for it. It is what it is. When it is wet out there I go to the garage and give deep sighs...
This car is a hothouse flower. Treat it like one. Try to make it into something else will only give you heart break...
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
I drove mine all through the winter , usually wearing motorcycle gear , and I can't say I had a problem with grip in the wet , just be a bit cautious accelerating out of junctions! I did several short journeys in the snow which were 'interesting ' , reversing proved particularly tricky!
good to know HJP i have never driven or rode on a motorcycle so dont know about cycle clothing. so if i place a order for a morgan 3 I will look into that, thanks
but to get back to my first post i dont want to turn the morgan into something its not i was reallly just wanting to see if any computer guy out there could just photo shop a canopy on the morgan to just see how it looks . not to turn it into a big thing about changing what it is

Hi Michael,
With respect I don't really agree with this comment, three of us drove the M3W on the Marfan Challenge to Nordkapp and back. 5,500 miles in all sorts of conditions in 14-days.
After getting water in the fuel, we had a problem with the injector on one cylinder, and the 3W was driven on 1-cylinder only for over 600 miles, before it self-righted itself. All of us were amazed by the performance of the car and its inherent toughness and apart from the water in the fuel problem, it had no other issues whatsoever and kept up with the more powerful cars in the group.
Some of the roads really were appalling and nothing broke or fell off and it returned completely under its own steam, as did all the other Morgan's! Nothing else to add really, this little car has got an iron heart...
Cheers
Brian

Gosh, hasn't this idea of a 'canopy' sparked some debate? A complete non starter of course, but a very interesting idea. Well done Fathergoose. Have any of us old farts got the computer skills to put a canopy onto an M3W picture? It would be interesting to see what it looks like.
Like donaldosauris, I also had to drive home from an event, last year in a torrential downpour, but didn't think the car was twitchy or felt as if it was on ice. There could be a problem with yours Micheal, maybe something as simple as tyre pressures too high?
I bought a nylon motorcycle oversuit fom Lidls, which I keep in the back, and wear a helmet with a pull down full face visor, and with the addition of a small towel around my neck I'm almost as dry as in the tintop = well that's a slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean? It stays remarkably dry in the cockpit, and I keep a golfing umbrella tucked down the passenger footwell, for when I have to stop, it all works a treat.
