Like donaldosauris, I also had to drive home from an event, last year in a torrential downpour, but didn't think the car was twitchy or felt as if it was on ice. There could be a problem with yours Micheal, maybe something as simple as tyre pressures too high?
Paul, I thought so too on the pressures but, alas, it was all for naught. Problem here is the utter crap roads here combined with the bump steer issue then add water and mix. or shake. or stir. whatever. The whole body condom has merit, however...
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Like Thorsten I'm really enjoying this thread ,love the giant condom ! Michael , I agree with Paul ,something must be wrong if yours is so twitchy, as I said above I've done hundreds of miles in the rain ,a lot of them on very bumpy roads with no real difficulties , tyre pressures were my first thought too . I dreaded to mention 'B' word Micheal, but yes, it could be that, and on slick shiny smooth tarmac. If I remember, the road I was on, had fairly coarse tarmac on it.

Ahhh fathergoose...I feel your pain! My wife was none too happy with my decision to add a fourth car to our stable that lacked both the requisite number of wheels and seats to accommodate a family of four (I have a 2 year old and a six year old). Ultimately, I invoked "executive privilege" and just ordered the damn thing! Nevertheless, let me assure you that your wife still won't like the car even if you add a titanium roll cage! Much less a "plexiglass roof". Ultimately I don't think any type of fully enclosed roof will work well with the M3W as the car has no way of ventilating the cabin (no AC, no air vents, nothing...) In such situations, I find it best to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. Remember, this car is still far cheaper than a mistress!

And it would boil you alive when the sun came out. Make a tonneau cover with a mohair jacket attachment, and a clear plastic window so that you can view the instruments. Top it off with a wide brimmed hat.
