@PaulJ - yea, Morgan’s board of directors hadn’t been satisfied with Charles' performance in the role, so they removed him from the position. He is now more or less a figurehead (the face of the company). I think its a gentleman by the name of Steve Morris who replaced him.

I think my dealer has done this and spoken to someone quite senior on the technical side who said he would get back. My dealer is very well connected with the factory - perhaps one of the closest connected - and even they are very frustrated and embarassed by the lack of a response. When I had issues with my new plus 8 and the Dealer could not satisfy me, I phoned direct and always got a solution I was happy with.

Sorry to hear of your problem, I agree with Paul, it seems a little surprising that the supplying dealer is not attempting to sort out the hose themselves .

David Is your leak at the rear of the engine, nearside, at the thermostat housing adjacent to the water pump?
I had a persistant leak there caused by an out of round metal pipe.

Sorry to hear of your problem, I agree with Paul, it seems a little surprising that the supplying dealer is not attempting to sort out the hose themselves . I think initially the idea was that it would save time - Harpers felt that the wrong size hose had been fitted - Morgan could identify that and send the correct part in before the dealer took my car in. Morgan are apparently very slow at supplying parts. I think over time both me and the dealer have lost sight of this and become fixated on Morgan’s lack of a response. I will call the dealer tomorrow to get my car booked in - but still does not excuse Morgans basic lack of courtesy to their customers.

I had a persistant leak there caused by an out of round metal pipe. No Dave. Its right on the join where the rubber hose connects. The diameter appears to be to large and with the clip in place it’s bunching up the hose and ejecting a little water under pressure. The header tank goes down about quarter to half an inch if I drive for one hour so I am constantly topping it up with tap water. Here is the photo we sent to Morgan. The offending hose is the one coming up from the bottom of the picture -

That hasn't been cut with any finesse! And it should be pushed up as far as the rectangular block on the right. I would try taking that end off, and cutting it square. If the jubilee clip has been overtightened, it can jump a thread and be self limiting on tightness. To cure my leak I had to source a silicon hose from Demon Tweeks, who also do heavy duty hose clips. Even then it took a few wraps of PTFE tape to finally defeat the leak.

I think having spent £55000 that the dealer should have made more effort to sort it, you certainly shouldn't have to wait five weeks for what appears to be a fairly simple problem . What on earth will happen if something major goes wrong ?

No matter that the car cost £55k or £10k...there is absolutely no excuse for a shoddily cut hose!
After such a delay in getting a reply from the factory I would be writing a strong letter to the MD Steve Morris. Steve sets high standards and I don't think he will be happy that it is taking so long to resolve.
