Q8, that is not the same as everyones rectifier. I was going to buy that one as a spare from a Harley dealer. However they have very different fixing positions. Better to have a spare cable tied on than a dead car at the side of the road far from home is my view. Not sure if your rectifier will look like this(borrowed from another thread no copyright!):
2022 Plus Four, 2023 Super Three, Range Rover Vogue SDV8 and Triking T3.
I see, well i guess i will have to do a new bracket/plate for it when i get the m3w,have to see it in the flesh.but the most important thing is the wiring, will it fit directly?
Further to the earlier posts about the Voltage Regulator mounting damage, this is typical condition of the standard mount bobbin after about 150 miles use.
This is the Poly bobbin installation. The lower two holes were elongated outboard to give the bolt heads some clearance from the regulator body, paint damaged from original fit. They are not as compliant as the original mounts but all is still working well and no splits or disbonding after about 350 miles use.
Having just discovered that one of my exhaust mounting bobbins has broken [after 650 miles] and having already replace two rectifier bobbins, I have just oredered 5 new ones from here:
at £2.80 plus VAT & carriage. They look like the Morgan ones, but I know from experience that they will last for years, holding up a silencer at least, probably good for the rectifier too.
if anyone finds a stateside supplier to the poly version please let me know. i've reached out to the ebay seller on the earlier link in this thread asking about the availability of black poly instead of blue as well as shipping costs to the states. looking to replace all of my bushings in the car (rectifier and exhausts) with the new poly as my rubber ones already failed on the rectifier mount and the exhaust ones are very close behind
Hi Laurens I bought a few of these which look like they will do the job (I hope that they are the same as the one that I bought when my rectifier was hanging off - looks the same but with a different trip to the shop and a different guy rummaging around to find something to match the broken one it might be slightly different - I thought that the first one I bought was for a BMW exhaust fitting) - maybe it could help you out if you are stuck. It seems that ATU has shops in Switzerland as well as Germany. http://www.atu.de/shop/ersatzteile/Befes...entblock_100992
My rectifier literally fell off (well, it was held on by one of the 4 bobbins) before I spotted the damage. I held it one with string until the Morgan specialist in Bevaix (http://skyautomobiles.ch) fixed it at the 1K service.
You might want to give them a call - I'm sure they can share where they got the replacements from.
