I may chop in the 70th anniversary in a year or two as I have a Porsche 911 (993) itch which needs to be scratched.

Wish list:

1920's Bentley 3 litre Red Label (ever since being a passenger in one 30 years ago), would prefer "oily rag" to concours.

Actual Fleet comprises; Morgan 4/4 sport (Pride & joy. Daily transport whenever suitable), TVR S2 (former p&j - must get around to selling it), Volvo V70 (for long journeys/going skiing/my winter wheels), MINI Cooper D (wife's car).

Ideal fleet; M3W (for going in to work, fun and local blasts), Aeromax (for touring, high days & holidays & for admiring), Range Rover TDV8 (for long trips/going skiing/winter car), MINI Cooper S Convertible (for wife). I'd also like to add a veteran car - 1904 cadillac say, for doing the London to Brighton and a 30's tourer, an Alvis Speed 25 or a Derby Bentley and an e type jag coupé - Series 1 4.2 litre of course.

I'm not unhappy with the current fleet and unfortunately am constrained both by space and cash. I would definitely buy a Rangie except it won't fit in my car parking space at work & would be touch and go down the alley to our house. I'm very happy with my 4/4, but I do hanker after a 3 wheeler. But then I wouldn't want the M3W as my only Mog, hence the Aeromax for longer distances. The Mini we bought as a car for my kids to learn to drive in, so when it's replaced it'll be with another MINI, but almost certainly for one with more oomph and convertible (like your wife Boshers, mine adores her MINI and doesn't want anything else). The classic cars ? Well, they're just pure self indulgence, and I would have to move house to a place with a sufficiently large motor house....

I can vouch for the Forrester Andy. My wife has one and it's been trouble free for 100,000 miles! Bell & Colvill sell them.

As I mentioned earlier, slimming down to a Rangie and the Morgan as my key cars, seems to work for me at the moment. My flirtation with supercars was fun, but somehow unrewarding.

My fantasy list would therefore be probably rather dull! The latest Rangie and a +8 would do it. Maybe an SS100 too.

difficult question this. 20 years ago I would have been debating between a 458 Italia ( or whatever preceeded it) and a Lotus Elan probably choosing the Elan on the basis that its always more fun to thrash a slow car than to be holding back in a car thats simply too fast. But nowadays I've come to the conclusion that you cant have any fun in a fast car . Just too much traffic and too many speed limits. Or maybe I'm just too old.

So my ideal car would be one the chauffeur was happy with. As a young man in a steel industry that still did things the old way, we had the use of 6 chauffeur driven cars. Old RR at one firm until they became too unreliable. But I've never forgotten the sheer luxury of sitting in the back seat reading the paper whilst someone else coped with the traffic.. So it would probably be a big Merc since RR and Bentley are a bit too flash ( sorry Boshly) for my taste.

Then there would be my wife's car, a Smart roadster that will probably be with her when she meets her maker. And a couple of decent motorbikes. And a Radical for trackday and a bit of club racing.
