Hi Simon. I'm starting a new thread re Hamster's Max. I hope there's someone out there apart from Rich and yourself (and me!) who has new info. Cheers. Chris

Hi Dean-Royal. That would be my guess too - somewhere else instead of Oz. I think Rich is putting together a list of Max's; where they are, build number etc, and maybe owners too! I gave him the details of mine two days ago.... Chris

The aero8 register is here Aero 8 Register This is run by Gadjet here on these boards. My Blog is an attempt (and an experiment) to try and log all the Aetomax pics I can find, attribute chassis numbers to them over time and build up a detailed history of the adventures of these cars... Its not easy though!

Difficult to tell - I've got literally thousands of pictures - many still to be uploaded, but I figure at the moment I can only account for around 30 of the worldwide 102 with any degree of confidence, and I probably only have definitive chassis numbers against pictures for around 10-15 cars at this point.
As i start to log more pictures and get more feedback, and more owners turn up here it will get progressively easier.

Just one question: you mentioned 102 Maxes; but I thought there were exactly 100 made. Where did the other 2 come from? Chris

Eric's original car (one off) 2 prototypes - 1 4.4 destroyed by journalist. 1 4.8 which is my car. 100 production cars. 1 replacement production car for an original owner whose car was destroyed.
That makes 104 total technically.

I hope Morgan won't be thinking about building another Max to replace someone else's [Max] which had been destroyed for whatever reason. That would immediately devalue all the other Maxes in the world! It was the same scenario with Aston Martin when they said that would build just 1000 examples of their V12 Vantage models worldwide. Collectors and connoisseurs rushed to buy it as an investment but only to find that Aston didn't keep their promise and produced over that number! Consequently, these Vantages are now worth a whole lot less! Worrying indeed...! Chris

I guess we'll have to see. The story is detailed on these boards somewhere. Morgan refused to rebuild the crashed car thou it was rebuilt privately. It doesn't have the provenance though and sold for a good deal less than the going rate..
