Added smile and due to the date of reg difference between Cerealsurfer's and SpeedMog's, it would be great to know the reg date of your car.

I have a cunning theory to the Chassis No. Reg Date conundrum.

Firstly:
Some dealers didn't register the Aero's straight away. Possibly using them as showroom cars prior to the owner collecting them?

Secondly:
Owners are assigned Chassis Numbers based on build slot. Due to Dealership priorities and some Owners keen-ness, particular cars were moved forward in the build queue... getting built out of sequence therefore registered early whilst bumping/gazumping the others (or particular ones) backwards?

Option 3 is an extension of your Second theory - that some owners asked for particular numbers (out of sequence) and therefore the actually VIN do not always equate to build sequence.

I think that may be correct. I for instance seem to recall seeing the last chassis number Plus 8 in the collection area at MMC whilst there were still Plus 8's on the line.

P.S Perhaps it's an Ask MMC question??

I thought that was because there was allegedly more than one 'last chassis number' Plus 8 produced. Devil6
