Jays, Where in "Eire" will you be -- most of us(apart from the English, for some reason) just call this place Ireland - or even Republic of Ireland - you would, I suspect, call Germany, Germany not Deutschland so I can't for the life of me see why you need to revert to the Irish language when referring to us!!
Rant over -- anyway if convenient we might, depending on where you are going and it being convenient, manage to buy you a pint when you are here -- PM me if you like
Cheers!

Hi Robbie from Ireland! OK...I'm going to Ireland but south of the border! The European Ireland!!
I'm over on the west coast for a couple of days, Killala in County Mayo with a load of bikers. We go over every year for a get together and some Guinness.

Thanks for the advise. Got that in the plan. And the Haynes manual "Practical Electrical Systems" fortunately covers that area.

I made that faux pas once with an Irish customer in Dublin. However my 1960's Scottish education and classroom map always showed the Republic of Ireland as "Eire". I am always willing to learn.

Jays, I am in the South East corner just north of Wexford so a little far from Mayo!!! If you are passing anywhere close to me, give me a shout!

With LEDs I'd have thought the battery life would be pretty reasonable (unless it's one of those tiny button cells). I have an LED torch, with rechargeables and a small windup generator, which suffices for most lighting needs in the dark (even in the garage when I've lost things inside the car... ).
