The other point is, what is (or are) the spring rates? A car with a stiffer front will exhibit less bump steer, even with identical suspension design.
Interesting you say that Martyn, as the springs are definately different

Link to the US fix it kit: http://www.fatcatmotorsports.com/FCM_M3W.htmThe other thing with fitting spacers is if the spacer were to fail, you would not be covered by your insurance, unless you have told them of this modification and an insurance company would be mad to insure a car with an "un-tested" safety critical component fitted to it. I think that the spring rate would not really affect the bump steer, as the problem is purely caused by the error in the geometry, it may feel less violent with a softer spring, but the level of movement would remain basically the same, unless the spring was sufficiently hard lo limit the suspension movement.

Spring rate will affect bump steer, but only proportionately.
Think of it this way, if the suspension is stiffer so the car goes up and down less, a bump that causes a steering change has less effect. Bump steer is still there, but you get less of it because the suspension is stiffer.

Hmmm...regarding the USA fix kit, I've got to admit that video of no deflection of the wheel with suspension compression does look pretty convincing compared to the ridiculous deflection seen with the stock setup in other videos posted on TM.
By the same token, this is an aftermarket solution, it's not clear that it is robust or safe. In fact the dealer disclaimer about needing a waiver signed if the install is done outside their shop doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
I will admit though...for the first time, I'm starting to get annoyed with MMC regarding this abject screw up. Pretty sad that some small aftermarket shop can come up with a fix, albeit of unproven quality, while the factory dithers...
Mark my words, this bump steer issue is gaining steam and traction, and may come back to bite the factory soon if they don't address it ASAP. Frankly, I don't think I'm going to accept delivery of my car unless I have written confirmation that I will receive whatever factory fix, free of charge, with delivery, when it becomes available...

I imagine MMC were planning to deal with it in a similar way to the wishbone upgrade . Although now Mark Evans has been appointed in a new role which includes customer service and warranty issues (see latest MOG ) perhaps there will be a different approach .

Very interesting. I had missed that. From personal experience I can say that Mark is a person who takes customer support very seriously. I wish him all the best in this new role which is bound to bring him a few headaches.

Mark was very good in resolving my recent delays with supply of over-rider brackets and rear damper brackets.

Well I never, I came up with that idea months ago, made a test piece and tried it on my car. It works. So I have produced an engineering drawing and passed it onto MMC for their evaluation.
Something that did look a little odd to me though, in RS & S's photo it shows a fixed spacer and a cap head bolt through the lot. This tells me they have drilled out the taper in the steering arm and used a 5/8ths bolt through the whole lot. Mmmmmm
My design keeps the existing taper and is fully adjustable for each individual car during set up to allow for manufacturing tolerances.
My last point is I cannot believe what they are charging for this modification, I think they are having a laff.

Does anyone have access to a set of Suplex coil overs? I would like to know the length, armed with this information I would be able to order a custom pair of coil overs form Spax ( http://www.spaxperformance.com/classic_products-csx.php) with adjustable damping and ride height. I have e-mailed SPAX asking for their advice on what the best route is to go down is with the products they make. I will await their reply and report back.

Would you use the same springs? In fact does anyone know what poundage the springs are that are currently in use?
