The tunnel appears to be the same Nigel. And the seat height in the 4/4 is too low for my taste. I sat on a blanket all the way home. In fact it's also harder to get out of, so tomorrow I'll make a start. I don't think I took a photo of the Roadster seats when they were out, but there were certain features like the steel deflector plate which I expect to find on the 4/4 seats. I won't be tapering the timber, because I don't have an accurate enough saw (although son in law does if I get desperate!). So I should gain a couple of inches, and see how that feels. I could gain a bit more with washers if necessary, but since the seats are flat on the floor now, they will be in the same alighmnet on level timber. I hope I have enough long bolts...............

Both screens are the same height - approx 10" at the centre.

LOL....have I started a new trend...measuring screens? Mine is 250mm....or as near as damn it 10"

I have 24 on each of the bonnet tops and 14 down each side. I will be loyal to a single trend

Here's a refresh. first the front fasteners. Front pair through the chassis, second pair through the floorboards.
Runners are straight on the carpet.


And the rears which are inside the U shaped runners and need a thinwall socket/tube spanner or an open ender, end on.


This is what holds the seat in place:
The rear bolts are longer as they pass through the thick part of the chassis which also has the spring front mounts.


Lift the seat out and this is what you get:


The underside of the seat. I don't see any difference to the Roadster to be honest. Note the protruding nuts. They press into the floorboards if you don't have spacers.

For a shorty like me, this is much better, but still have to do it all again tomorrow for the drivers side.
The front 4 bolts need to be 2.5". The rear pair need to be 3.5", so I've had to order some because I've only got one 3.5" bolt in stock. Grrrrrr!

Nice job as usual Dave! I replaced my rear bolts on the 4/4 with cap heads which allowed me to use an allen key rather than rely on an end on open spanner.

Nice Dave. I had assumed the factory would have done something to compensate for the protruding nuts as it places a strain on the fittings without the wooden runners. Silly me!

I aim to replace the horse hair stuffing over the sills by drain pipe following Peter's guide in Morganitca this winter. So Dave thanks as I need to get the seats out.
I did it on my last car to replace the webbing but good to be reminded of how to do it.

One more thing. I did the drivers side today, and discovered that the steering column is an inch lower with the more recent 3 dial dash, so with the seats raised, there is limited space between the seat and steering wheel. I suspect this is why the seats were lowered. It's not a problem for my sylph like figure, but the steering wheel feels low now.
Also remember that the under-seat carpet is tacked to the floor. I'm now waiting for some long bolts so I can finish the installation.
The column cowl doesn't fit well either, offset to the left - but that's a job for winter. I'll post some photos later.
