Brooklands at the Factory

Jochen (Numog) and I spent an enjoyable day at the factory yesterday whilst he had his Roadster in for its annual service. Of course we had to have an explore of the factory looking for Brooklands Roadsters! There are a number in build at the moment, all in various stages of construction and with a large percentage being LHD. Plenty of combinations of wheels, black or stainless alloy..or my favourite, black painted alloys, black or silver screen pillars, sidescreens and headlamp bezels and one at least destined for a polished alloy bonnet and radiator cowl. Those two polished items looked stunning.
some cars had spare wheels, some had a very neat louvred cover with built in high level brake light.
All the cars had the standard Morgan (Mountney) steering wheel fitted....still waiting for the Brooklands wheel to have the horn push finalised I believe.
The modified gearbox covers, which don't look great in the alloy, but are fine when covered, seem to offer more room for the clutch foot on the RHDs in particular and modified scuttle panels as well to give more room for the LHDs. I'm keen to see the footrests but none were fitted although there seem to be a couple of mounting points on the cover for them.

I did keep a lookout for the Brooklands Threewheeler but saw none. One is certainly in existence as I was told that a German guy came over to polish one...and the time it took explains the extra cost of having that option!

Hi Brian. Ah ha........you have come out of the closet!! thumbs I'm very much looking forward to seeing your latest car! I wonder if those were your bonnets on the shelf?

Jochen will no doubt post so I don't want to tread on his toes... l left him on Monday about to have a chat with Nick and Steve about his next car.

It should be 'British Racing Green', not 'Brookland Racing Green'.

A very lucky find Brian.
One more day and it probably would have found a new home elsewhere.

Go on John....you just know it makes sense! I was pondering over how you'd keep the pristine alloy clean...so easy to scratch it when polishing. Jochen told me that someone who has ordered one is having the alloy "micro finished" what ever that is.
