I think its obvious, but i would like to check with someone who has done it first that i am on the right track.

The trim that goes from one side of the cockpit to the other and covers up the mirror mountings is held on with Velcro at the free end down my the drivers leg. That is as fare as i have investigated.

Has anyone gone further and removed it to get to the mirror mounting? If so is it just more Velcro? and does it go back in nicely once disturbed.

I want to investigate fitting a parking ticket holder (motorcycle tax disc holder with screw front) and reducing the vibration of the mirrors. But i don't want to destroy the trim on the way.

Any helpful comment appreciated.

I've done this and it goes back without any problems. From memory its leather covered plastic.

I do seem to recall taking out the trim strip to tighten up the mirrors and then realising that I needn't have. Might be worth checking if you can get a ring spanner on the mirror nut before taking it apart.
