Does anybody know how to repair a rev-counter of my Roadster (2008 - 3 ltr. USA-Ford engine).
He indicates constantly abt 1000 revs too few.
My garage told me that the dip-switches are set correctly.
They did not find a solution yet.
It is such an almost dead sight at my dashboard whilst driving.

Maybe it is a good idea to contact speedycables that is CAI's (Smiths) repair department. They should know what is to do. Link Speedycables BR Christian

Thank you Christian for your info abt. speedy cables, however I am from NL.
I watched their website and certainly they could help me out if I was there with my Morgan. A similar company I did not find with us yet. I did not search thoroughly yet, they must be there.
And "TMG513" , I bought this car during an auction and this defect was there already.

If the ignal is correct the rev-counter is maybe defect. It is an easy diy job to get it out. Maybe another revcounter could be attached to cable. If the alternative counter shows the right numbers you know what is defect. A parcel to Britain is maybe cheaper than a new rev counter.
In Germany there are some instrument service Company which repairs this stuff. One is nearby in Osnabrück which is not so far from the Netherlands like Britain.

Most rev counters today work by impulse and are tuned to a particular vehicle by sequencing miniature switches inside the unit. I've seen two types, one with four switches and one with eight, although from the front they look the same. So to fit a new one to your car you will need to know the sequencing of the switches, and any other commissioning actions - like ignition on/off etc.
