Personally I'm waiting to see the "comfort product " ,mentioned in the press release, before I decide whether to splash out over £600 for the shocks .

CMB have you had a chance to give your shocks a good testing yet ?

I too wait expectantly to hear how the new shocks are working and I wonder if there is a recommended factory setting for both ride height and Bump/Rebound? I assume there must be as otherwise the settings could be all over the place and the problem will likely not improve. Fingers crossed however...

So the new dampers have been on a while, & I have covered some miles. Firstly I am very happy with them, and how the car now handles, but if you think that this will make it drive like a normal modern euro-box you are wrong.

I have played around with the damping and found a setting that works well for me, the car feels more stable on the road, the ride is slightly softer than before, and the bump steer is, in my opinion, as good as gone. There is still feedback through the wheel if you hit a large bump/hole as speed, but that can be said of any car, especially light ones.

There is not recommended ride height. I spoke to a chap, who’s name escapes me at Shelsley, who was there from the factory, with a car with this suspension upgrade fitted. It was set lower than mine (I have lowered mine by 7/8)
So overall very happy.

does the lowering of the car cause any issues with bumping the back of the car? Since the early sketches of this car, I have always thought that back part beyond the rear wheel was destined to scrape a lot. Lowering it just seems to heighten that possibility.

In theory lowering the front and leaving the back at the existing height should steepen the caster angle and reduce the trail fractionally. The result would be a slightly less self centering effect and perhaps slightly less directional stability. Over the length of the car such a change would be minute and I doubt you would feel it.

Having said that it would be interesting to compare the true (vehicle loaded) caster angle of two M3Ws. One that exhibits bump steer and one that does not.

Interesting quote from this new article on Autoblog about Charles Morgan's dismissal...

According to Autocar, the cause for dismissal comes down to four counts of misconduct...(3) divulged information of an impending revised Morgan 3 Wheeler to a group of owners...

I changed my front tyre pressures when they had dropped quite a lot. I was at about 18 psi and when put back to 25 noticed no change in handling or bump steer.
