Can anyone confirm the rumour that Charles Morgan has been removed from the board of directors of The Morgan Motor Company as of 10.00 last night ?

Two threads in "The Malvern Arms" related to this...
Not that there is much detail in the factory announcement... smile

His tweet message states "sad strange day" and wish the people at the factory all his best. Nothing more. There must be at least 50 re-tweets with words of surprise and support.

is there more to this. how is his health, or his families heath? etc.

A "sad, strange day" for Charles.
Also a sad, strange day for me.

The end of an era.

Well, that is certainly the end of an era and they may come to regret losing the status of being (probably uniquely) a continuously family-owned company.

The press release is disturbingly thin, isn't it?

The company is still owned by the Morgan family and Charles remains the largest individual shareholder (I doubt he has sold his shares). But, I expect in the future the company will be run on a day to day basis by the directors (who are ultimately responsible to the shareholders, Charles included). There is no change in the ownership structure at all, just the figure head.
