Garret - ring me on 0862423031. I am in town right now and could show you the Simmonds wheel in my car if you like!

I had a leather M.L. for years it felt thick to grip , was changed last year to wood by M.L. and sent off to M.K. to blend in with the dash . At first I found it very thin and felt like it would snap at any time . But after a lot of chucking it around I think its better more feel and feed back in my fingers than the leather ever did . Its a bit like driving in bare feet . The wheel is slightly dished this is to stop me catching the side switches with my fingers . Ask Simon at M.L. for more info he is a nice chap and used to own a mog so he will understand . thumbs drive

I also have the Mota Lita leather wheel. I think it complements the walnut dash better than wood and matches my black leather upholstery. I tried the wooden wheel but as has been said I found it a little thin.

Whoever designed the factory fit wheel should, as they say, consider his position !

Andy cheers

That comment sounds as though it comes from experience?

Fortunately read and remembered that one, as could imagine it happening.

Also use a gear puller to remove the wheel. Don't wriggle it off as you can damage the splines.

The standard factory fitted wheel is made by Mountney. They probably could not homologate the car with a wood rim wheel.

For my 2011 plus4 the steering wheel came off without a puller, I just gave it a couple of firm bashed with my hands to release it.
I agree do not wiggle it off re damage to splines.

I quite like my factory standard leather wheel.
I certainly prefer it to the thin wood rimmed wheel on my +4...
Just wish I could raise it an inch smile (Steady!! shocked2 )
