LOL you did! Still painting mine!!

I have a similar connector with same wire colours which is taped up to the tacho loom. No idea what it is for. In fact I have several connectors under the dash which are not used and have been taped over...all a bit of a mess really.

Loads of spare connectors under Bumble's dash.

Looks smart - good idea re the oven.

Since it will have to be removed to remove the carpet perhaps a bolt would be a better long term prospect?

The connect could be a OBD type connector.

Mines bolted down, but I didn't fit it.

I cut a neat hole in the carpet: with hindsight I need to cut a slit from the centre back of the hole to the forward edge of the carpet. Then both the hole and slot can be edged to stop fraying.

I think a new carpet is the best idea so I can work on it, but then I wonder if the Factory offer a carpet suitably adapted for the organ pedal?

Spare connectors? One of them is probably attached to the cigarette lighter socket. That is for the optional map light but is also a good power pick up point if you are fitting a USB socket

Something to check with a multi meter!
An additional power point would be useful.

At some stage I must have one for my 2011 4/4

If nothing else it might reduce the cramping in my druvers foot I get over longer distances

I fitted one on my vMog 2 weeks ago: it took me some time to think it over but it ended up quite easy once I stopped procrastinating ;-)

I bought the unpainted pedal from MR. Then I used some craft paint (see below).

I fixed the pedal with screws (I unscrewed the carpet buttons to see what length I would need in order not to get beyond wood thickness)

The most minute part was not the pedal fitting though, it was the carpet adjustment. But that eventually went well: once I burnt the edges to melt them a little, I put some neoprene gel to stop the carpet edges to untangle over time.
