Very nice job Roger and I can say that with the benefit of struggling with 2mm aluminium over the years!!!

Today I fitted the panel between the over-rider irons, which are ready drilled. Unfortunately the Plus 4 radiator is much lower than the Roadster, so this panel needs spacing down about an inch, and shaping to clear the lowest point on the radiator, which is lower nearside.





This still needs a front cowl to finish off!
I'm working on it,but it's a pain.

Next I changed the rear lamps to L795's. The indicators are fronts, and the stop/tails are Aero8, and also used as fog warners on trads until recent changes.
The L795's take a silver reflector for added brightness, but also need extended fixing screws. Some of these have a different thread, so you will need the female end which is a brass flat top-hat affair which locates in the backplate from behind.

Finally, the relative position of the front indicators to the headlights varies according to model. On my Roadster, the indicator is vertically in line with the headlight:


But the 4/4 wing has the indicator offset to make room for the over-rider.

Is there any danger of the engine bay getting hotter by enclosing it?

I don't particularly see why it would as I have owned several cars where the underneath is completely sealed.... But I was wondering about the Morgan as mine gets plenty hot despite being fully exposed underneath.

Nice bit of forming Dave. That’s going to offer some useful protection to the extended rad.

The cowl shape is a real brain teaser. Hope you have plenty of cardboard left!

Neil, enclosing the Roadster with a front spoiler seemed to make it run cooler on hot days, I think because more air gets channeled through the radiator. It's not a problem with the four cylinders, the temperature seems on the low side anyway.

I've done a bit more on the cowl Roger. It's now cut and filed and primed and resting on the bench.
............but the front curvature isn't as uniform as I would like. It will be concealed though behind the number plate box so for now I'll stick with this one, but its so tempting to start another! You did well to get such an even curve.

Dave, it took me two attempts to get it how I wanted it. I had to live with the first attempt a while and ponder it from all angles before I really knew what I did want.

I got lucky with the curve, it took all the strength I could muster to form. Clamped the scaffold pole & ali to the bench with two 8" g-clamps and some 4 by 2 blocks. Kept the ali over hanging the bench as much as pos. Then pushed up on the ali from underneath with another length of 4 by 2, keeping the force as uniform as pos along the sheet to form around the pole. The front slot was cut afterwards.

Full day today.

First the front cowl..........primed. I managed to delete the photo with it in bare alloy. Grr.
I decided to go with 1.2mm to make the bending easier, so I turned over the lip to give it strength.
