Q8, some diffs. do have a breather, my Caterham uses a Ford Sierra diff, and that has a breather. It's a little rubber tube that goes over the top. I guess it lets air and gas from the oil out.
The bevel box shouldn't throw oil out of the breather, it's either been overfilled, or if it continues, there may be a part missing, although I haven't looked, it will possibly have a small plate covering the breather to stop oil being thrown directly out of the hole.
Sounds like a dealer visit ASAP.

It is buried away and difficult to see, it could very well have a breather, has anyone actually had a look?

So after 2000 miles the bevel box is still screaming.
I was assured by the dealer they would sort it when it had done 175 miles. The factory said it needed to do 1000 miles. I contacted the dealer then and no response at all. Now they say "the work will be done under warranty but we need a delivery date for the part from the factory before we can give you an appointment." So they never bothered ordering a replacement.
No guarantee that it will be silent of course!
Broken exhaust to be done at same time.

It seems that the dealer cannot make a decision on whether the box needs replacing, they have to carry out some tests, involving driving at certain speeds and reporting on the noise, the results are then sent to Morgan who will eventually get back to the dealer with the answer. Mine has been with the dealer for a week now, and no decision has been made by the factory yet. Even if the factory say that the box can be changed, they might not have one available, so there could be a wait of several weeks, and as you say Donaldo, there is no guarantee it will be any quieter, it could even be worse.
Oh, the fun of Three Wheeling!

Just dropped the oil out of my BBB and didn't get much more than 140ml - which was a bit disappointing since no obvious leaks and it was previously filled either by the dealer or MMC

My dealer has finally received approval from the factory for a new BB, the question is when will it be available!
