Yep, I'm in the same place, approval for a new one, but they appear to have no stock. Anyone want to contact the parts department and order one?

Given what some people have said, it might be a good idea to suggest to the dealer that the lubrication status is checked when the new box is fitted.
I'm wondering if the boxes are delivered, and the factory has the belief, that they are pre-oiled, but in fact, the oil level is not always adequate. It would a simple thing to check, and add oil if needed, and might prevent a whole lot of unhappiness!

That sounds like too much common sense to me.

I've been reading the threads detailing the problems with the M3W: given the production volume the problems, especially with the bevel box, are a concern. But BMW has been fitting shaft drive bevel boxes to big bikes for years and they do have problems at times, possibly because the boxes are in the rear hub and are small, much smaller than the thing Morgan uses.
It does make me wonder why Morgan didn't use a shaft to rear hub, cost probably. But the short drive belt isn't elegant engineering.
So who will be the first to offer a triplex chain conversion? With a suitable oiling device a chain should last 20,000 mikes, cannot move from side to side and is unlikely to snap. It also can't make the noise a belt can make....

It also can't make the noise a belt can make.... Why would you want to replace a reliable, maintenance free drive belt with a chain that requires regular cleaning, tensioning and lubricating? As far as I am aware the drive belt has not been a problem. Other than the very early ones they have not been prone to breakages, have they? They sqeak a bit sometimes but I can live with that if it is reliable. The drive gear wear seems to be an issue that needs a fix as milages increase and the tolerances and mounting of the bevel gearbox are not great. My bevel box is scheduled for a change for excessive noise as well. The reason for the drive belt and the rear supension set up is to avoid power on/off jackup of the rear supension I believe? If you use a shaft drive to the rear hub the torque reaction does this. BMW use a Paralever system to couteract this effect. Both my Grinnall Scorpion and Guzzi JZR suffered a bit from this but the Morgan doesn't. Morgan made a mess of the front suspension but seem to have got the rear about right.

I understand the suspension issues associated with shaft drive bikes: the solution is costly.
As to belts whilst belts are great in a nice clean environment I'm not sold on their utility in a muddy dirty location. They can and do snap and wear on the drive drums is a real issue. Chains are not perfect either.
As to the suspension, I have been meaning to ask "why didn't Morgan simply use a version of the car front suspension?

I wish they had, pretty much anything would have been better than what we have.
