Me too! A classic layout and I love that dimpled (?) alloy finish...it very much reminds me of the finish on some cigarette cases ( if anyone remembers those!) from the 30's.

Before i went down the Mk route for my panel I searched all over for alloy with that finish and drew a blank. There must be a supplier somewhere for E-Type restoration etc. The same with engine turned alloy plate...Eurospares sell it but it is large patterned and not that nice.

John, great thread and the Mig clock looks superb.

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product once you have the dash insert in place. thumbs

Very nearly there Simon...just a bit of wiring to complete and then its in! Then on to the next job!

Adrian....very nice layout! One of Matthias's? And is that an offset steering wheel or just a strange camera angle?

Count holes on spokes, it makes for easy access, not that I need it. hide

What a struggle getting the dash back in! When I bought the car the dash was very slightly loose...the reason turned out to be the top mounting screw had missed the ash frame under the cowl! Must be down to being hand built.....I thought that the dashes and frames were jig made to a pattern. I managed to mount the dash slightly higher but then that meant trimming the plastic under tray. Backbreaking work in a cramped garage! Still...it's all in, looking good and the glove compartment looks a lot better for the mesh.

The next job Phillip? I want to get the wing top sidelights working......the wiring seems to go off somewhere under the wings so a bit of grovelling tomorrow.
