Hi,due to the state of some of our roads now I am contemplating upgrading the shocks on my 3.7 Roadster.My question is,how far to go to feel the benefit & stop the harsh feel when hitting a pothole. Is it a case of changing to a pair of adjustable shocks,or I see several dealers now advertising a Suplex kit @£895 & at the other end of the scale Librands selling a far bigger alteration @ £4995 + vat.

I spotted you are a Durham lad . Try and get a ride in others befor you make your mind up as to what you want from your mog . Sure as hell you will change your mind as time rolls bye . Go and check a few out phone around for some advice and keep a note pad by the phone . Give B.H.M. a call ask for Keith or H.O.E. and speak to Ben Duncan. Befor you pull the cheque book out. I'm a Durham lad had mine 27 year dont think their are many roads in Durham I have not been on.

I have a Roadster too. I'm thinking of the Suplex system along with Panhard Rod and antitramp bar.... Trouble is it all adds up!

The roads in Surrey are just as bad as most of the the council tax goes on pensions I'm told.

I have a Roadster with The Suplex kit ant brake reaction bars.

It transformed the car: I can't reccoment it enough, but it MUST be fitted correctly. Williams near Yate (Bristol Area) did mine.

Millers are in the process of fitting a Suplex kit, reaction bars ,panhard rod & rear shocks. I pick the car up on Friday so will let you know my impressions

Now I know you are trying to keep up with my new car on Cotswold country lanes

Suplex kit and hard chrome pins on my Roadster, 1500 miles done on them and it feels really good compared to before. A lot less shock going through the car will create a lot less damage and repair in the future. BHM fitted mine and I adjusted them after 300 miles

I would try and get a trial in a car that has had them fitted.

Thanks for the feedback. The Suplex system seems to be the common denominator,I shall look into this.
John+4 your impressions would be gratefully received,you have obviously gone for it.

Got my Roadster booked in to Williams on Friday for Suplex kit, Panhard rod and brake reaction bars.

(Just so I can keep up with yellow Morgans! )

I have a Plus 8 and live in Devon with some terrible toads and have stuck with my Modified front/rear setup which came from Mulfabs, I was tempted by Suplex and have talked to lots of Morgan owners about it. Remember a Roadster like a +8 is a lot heavier than a 4/4 on which it was developed, others have generally reported improved ride at slower speeds, but some have reported negatives at higher speeds and aggressive cornering. I would try a vehicle with it the same as yours before committing. Have a chat with New Elms, they set up all sorts of Morgans and race them, and will give you good advice.
