Just been washing mine, a lot of mud on the roads round here frown .
While cleaning the front end I remembered that different steering racks have been fitted and was wondering if the modifications would need to be adapted .

Well, my car was a May 2013 build, with forward gear lever, so assume it has the latest steering rack. Does anyone know the difference between the older rack and the later one?

The later rack has a hole in the top of the assembly right in the middle. My car (no. 350 Oct 2012) was one of the very first to get it and I have seen later cars without the newer rack!

BHM told me that my steering was better than their demonstrator that they had at the time, and the bumpsteer on my car is mostly acceptable with only very occasional issues other than a lot of feedback.

However, I certainly would prefer to get rid of the problem completely so remain interested in the solutions...

Personally I don't mind the ride at all and wouldn't want a 'comfort' option if this is softer.

Ive had a look at mine , got it mid Sept 12 and no hole . It's due for a service so will see if I can see any differences compared to the Krazy Horse demo.

I agree about the ride being fine , I imagined Morgan used the word comfort to avoid mentioning that they were in fact trying to get rid of the bump steer ! Hopefully all will be revealed shortly.

My M3W was built Sept.13 so it should have whatever upgrade Morgan came up with. (It hasn't been delivered yet, US.)But I've seen several letters detailing serious complaints, including the suspension banging into and damaging the header pipes as well as the bump steer as late as July,2013. I'm willing to partially pay for an aftermarket upgrade IF the warranty is not affected. A correct recall-upgrade by the dealer/ Morgan would be the best solution. The dealer meeting late this month should prove interesting.

Would I be right in thinking that any major alteration to the chassis pickup points for the wishbones would be subject to new homologation procedures in various markets? If so, this would be a strong disincentive for MMC to re-engineer the chassis I fancy.

They seem to be working on a fix for the drooping tie rods, probably, and I'm guessing here, by raising the level of the steering arm on the upright. It would be nice if they could also put in a bit more of an angle on the upright too, whilst they are at it.

Re. steering rack, my May '13 cars rack has a little hole in the top of it, so guess it is a later one. On a point of order, doesn't this hole let in the water? What is it there for, and what other changes did they make to the rack?
