Have you ever considered becoming a high court judge Peter ?

In this case m'Lud I'm referring to Southampton's association football team. Had I been talking about the Saints in a Rugby Union context, I would have course been referring to Northampton.

I'm not impartial enough, nor unworldly enough!!

Indeed you would...
The Saints

I wish Southampton AFC all the luck in the world, but after watching Fullham in the 1960s I turned my back on football!

The trouble is that as I was taken to Craven Cottage by my Dad, from the age of 7; (Johnny Haynes, Jimmy Hill, Tony Mecado etc) so I'm sort of stuck with following them.

Same for me Bud, my dad took me to watch Burnley from about 9 years old, though I haven't been a supporter on the terraces for many, many years now.

I do still follow them at a distance to see how they are doing and so, much like pandy, now is a good time to show your colours so to speak, with this being their best start to a season in decades.

They are a small town club run on a tight budget without running up debts, so their recent foray into the premiership was a bit of an embarrassing one season blip.

But I have a friend who is a staunch Man Utd fan, so the 1-0 home win for the Clarets was a high point happy3
