Plus 4 - 2009
I have just fitted adjustable "Rutherford" AVO shock absorbers. They are definitely an improvement over the orignal Sachs dampers.
After some fiddling I ended up with the follwing adjustment, starting from fully counterclockwise (softest):
rear 1 click
front 3 clicks
Has anyone found other adjustments useful?

Mine (front only) are on the softest setting and work just fine.

I have them newly fitted at the rear to complement the Suplex front end. They are set at the middle setting & seem OK

I have AVOs all round with standard factory front springs and five leaf rears.
After trying various settings, I have settled with 2 clicks front and 1 click rear.
This seems to be the best compromise between handling and comfort, on my car.

5 at the front on my 4/4 sport and koni's at the rear with 4 leafs
maybee i will again try later the avo's at the rear .They were
at 0 but still too hard.Now the car has 12000 km a becomes softer.
At the beginning the front were also on 0

There were some threads on this about 18 months back, and if I recall, that is pretty much what most people seem to think mis best. Very much a matter of personal taste. Don't forget that if you go on a trip fully loaded with co-pilot and all her luggage you should increase the rear setting one or two clicks.

4 all round for me - Roadster.

Richard, when I took Rosie to New Elms to get her checked over, my rear Avo's were set at softest setting, Darren told me off saying they will have no damping what so ever and recommended 2-4 on the rear and 3-5 up front. Rosi is now set up with 3 click rears and 5 up front, not to stiff and works well.
