Hi all
After our Morgan was damaged last year I have decided to purchase a camera to log all journeys. If I had one at the time of the accident I could have proved that it was not my fault without having to take the other driver to Court.
I want a good picture with sound at a reasonable cost. Any suggestions please
David cop.
I know it is shutting the gate after the horse has bolted.

If you capture any meteors entering the upper atmosphere before exploding, we need to see them first. thumbs

Have heard a lot about these guys:

http://www.roadhawk.co.uk/blog/

No experience of them, but have a small HD bullet cam on suckers attached to my bike crash helmet & some good results. Downside is the faff with loading up different SD cards, logging & storing etc etc.

Best system for me would be a system that is solid state, runs constantly when engine is running & runs a 'spool' type of recording method in that once it's full up it simply deletes the oldest in order to gain new space.

I know from experience that having 'facts' recorded is a double edged sword - we're never completely innocent..!

I would be interested to hear about experiences with this camera. How it fits, and where you route the power lead in the Morgan.
I'm very tempted to get one. I'm just not struck about trailing cables.

Try DogCamSport

They do a load of cameras and mounts for Sports, cars and bikes. Give them a call they are very helpful and have been in the business years. I have had 2 bullet cameras from them for skiing, the one I still have is great, and charges from USB and is waterproof, good quality video and plenty of hours record time. Similar to this BulletCam it is very flexible in its use.

I seriously considered the Road Hawk system. I was finally put off it by the need for the 12v external supply, the associated trailing leads (which I don't like) and because it needs to be fixed in the car, so isn't easily transferable from car to car.

I finally settled on a Sony HDR-AS15 as I decided I could do without all the data logging systems. It has good battery life and so is easy to transfer between cars. The image quality is excellent, especially when using the image stabilisation system. The sound tends to be a bit muffled because I use it in the waterproof case on a a screen suction mount. It may be worth consideration, but one point of caution; when I was rear ended in France a couple of years ago, a front facing camera would have been of little use... other than to record the jolt!

I got mine from here:

http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/

All usual no connection/interest points apply, just good service. They also sell the Road Hawk as well, plus others.

Oops! Overlap with Adrian's post - both recommend Dogcam Sports Cameras though!

+1. Must come from my student days at Currys when my job was to hide wires!
