Hi all

Has anyone any experience of these devices . I have seen a few on Fleabay and they seem like a good idea especially if you are going abroad etc and have no access to a power supply ??

I use one I got from Maplin, it is about A3 size. Keeps the M3W topped up.

I've no personal experience Gajet, but I have a friend who bought a basic, cheap one off eBay (I don't have any output data). He used it for a car he left at Limoges airport in France associated with a holiday home there. He was very satisfied, it kept the battery charged over the winter when the car wasn't being used (approx 3 months in relatively low light conditions).

I used one for years on my 4/4 with no problem. The +4 came with a CTEK so I don't use it now.

I ruined the battery (for the second time) on my Volvo due to lack of use so needed to carry a portable starter for fear of a flat battery.

No access to power from the house, so bought a solar charger for £10 from Maplin and it works.

Battery remains charged - damaged or not and will start even after a week of being parked up - problem solved.

Car is not garaged and I had to connect directly to the battery - 12v not live.

Panel sits behind rear seat head rests(battery in boot).
