It would be interesting to know what #car the mods will be on. My M3W was built early Sept. It has the hole in the steering rack if that means anything. I haven't taken delivery yet, waiting for the dealer's meeting, as mentioned before. If the Daily Telegraph story is accurate, and why wouldn't it be; I'd rather wait a little longer for the updated car or get the mods retro-fitted. I hope Morgan would, at least give existing owners a "family" price for the upgrades. LarryS

Ouch! Mr. Morris doesn't mix his words does he?

His words below extracted from the Telegraph article:

“We’ve got 1,000 Three Wheelers out there and only a very small percentage of owners that have moaned about it [bump steer],” he says. “I think it’s part of the characteristics of the vehicle. It’s never going to be a Ford Fiesta where you sit in it and just drive. Technically there’s no failure, it’s purely dynamics and the way some people are looking at it."

So remember chaps, we must not moan about Morgan characteristics... OK.

"purely dynamics" would be a good epitaph

I do not believe this to be true. I was told that the dealers received the information before it went into the press.

I can't help but feel that there are now too many threads running on this topic and information is getting lost because of it. For instance, the information posted by Tim has been live on another thread since early this morning and, on that same thread, Larry's question, regarding when MY14 production begins, was answered.

Please understand when I start closing threads that it isn't to stop discussion but simply to move it into one thread so that other users can find it easily and the conversation can be succinct and in one place.

Yes, I know at least one dealer that has been informed.

About Steve Morris' poor choice of words, I guess that's the official truth about the bump steer issue. There is NO issue, just a small percentage of owners moaning.

So, from now on, we better call it the "moaner owner" issue. LOL

It wasn't known by the one I sat with yesterday..

Still, better not get into anything controversial...moderators & MMC are watching...

I'm officially in the "Moaner Owner" camp.

I doubt that I am alone on the naughty step.

Sorry about duplicating the update info in this thread. I had not spotted the Updated for 2014 thread before posting here. It would have been better posted under that one.

Tim, no worries at all, it isn't just you, we're all doing it. Whilst I know owners have concerns over the M3W, in terms of access to information in the future and to facilitate linear conversation, it just helps to trim the amount of open topics. smile

As for the Andrew English quote, I have my opinions on this but knowing Steve, I have never seen him dismissive of customer concerns. As I said on the other thread, this is the same person who yesterday asked me if I was willing to assist in compiling a feedback session/group and also implemented all the moves toward quality (build record and check list) and inspection bays.

As for having a bias toward the factory, I have always voiced my stance on this and it is simple:

I like and respect many people who work at the factory and whom build the vehicles we enjoy. I have seen their passion for the product and commitment to the people who drive them. There are no rose tinted glasses from my side and when I have had issues, I have voiced them in the same manner I have when I have had problems with any product from any other manufacturer. Therefore I do not believe MMC are perfect; in truth, no one is. Furthermore, I have, and will continue to, intervene when I have witnessed Morgan owners with genuine concerns and where I believe we (TM) or I can be of assistance. I know the other moderators have done exactly the same thing. There is no hidden agenda, there is no favour paid to the factory other than the genuine appreciation for the product produced but with eyes wide open that it is hand built, on a fraction of the budget allocated to other car makers and can, at times, require fettling.

It looks like it is going to be sunny and cold today, so I hope those who can will drive their Morgans and remind themselves why they bought them in the first place - happy driving thumbs
