Carefully fastened, after clipping the hood down at the back, as always. I'll be the 'Daft Laddie' and ask the question? Hopefully your hood was not down with it fastened at the time? I lowered the hood on mine once with it fastened and the Tenex Button just sheared off but the peg was ok. I noticed during my last factory visit that MMC were fitting a Tenex Peg to the Top (Front Edge) of the Vertical Legs of the Easy Up Hood Frame to fasten the loose hood flaps to when the hood is down. Stupidly, I did not take a photo.

I've seen that new Tenax peg Frank. I was given some fasteners in the Trim Shop to fit....but be warned, there is a metal reinforcing plate in the hood frame and a drill bit can wander or indeed snap...as I found out! As a result I have made a leather fixing strap with a Tenax stud on a plate to hold down the folded hood...much easier!

These people have the " back plate" versions Tenax Go to the last page. I'm going to replace both with these, if the head of the stud breaks off replacing is simply replacing 2 wood screws. I also plan to fit one each side to the hood frame: a couple of hard self tapping screws should do the job. They are "much" more expensive than the simple wood screw versions...possibly why Morgan doesn't use them.

I have made a leather fixing strap with a Tenax stud on a plate to hold down the folded hood...much easier! I agree Jay. I have been using a simple Velcro strap on each side made by buying a pack of Black adhesive from Sainsburys. Cut it in half and stick a strip of 'Hooks' back to back with 'Matt'. Mitre the corners and job done. Two effective straps to hold it all together. I did then sew on a stip of old lap top strap to each as I became fed up with the 'Hook' side always gripping the Fleece' on the Hood Frame.

If you decide to extract it, when you drill the hole into the broken stud try using a LH drill bit. Don't forget to run your drill backwards!
By doing this you are quite likely to wind the stud out without having to use an extractor.

I'd be interested to see a tenax stud fastened to the hood frame, to "park" the flap when the hood is down (as mentioned above by Frank). At present I'm using a double-sided velcro band on each side, as I posted previously, and this does a very good job of keeping everything squared away and not flapping. I also have velcro bands at the rear to keep the folded hood in place. See (photos): http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/152843/1On a few occasions I have forgotten to undo the tenax while folding the hood, but so far I've felt the added tension before anything bad happened! I agree that the male tenax with the two-screw backplate would be a better solution, and much easier to replace. Nigel
