I wonder if the backplate solution might distort the skin of the car if it were twisted off?

The skin of my Roadster has been slightly distorted (upwards) both sides with the standard set up. Hardly noticeable though, even to me. I put a small stainless washer under the stud when I replaced it (both sides).

I am not sure but if you are referring to the tenax just above the door that can get broken with an easy up if you forget to undo it when drooping the hood then NeilM came up with a very neat solution on his roadster, removing the tenax an replacing it with a magnet attached to the dood an a flat metal plate on the body, ask him about it. cheers

A couple of photos of the restraint strap I made to keep the front end of the folded hood from flapping. Made up of a folded piece of leather with the Tenax base riveted to it and a heavy duty press stud to hold it to the hood frame. The leather is folded over the rear of the rivets and sewn down to stop any risk of scratching.

Morgans solution (why wait so long to do it?) means the hood flap is rather untidily folded on the top of the rail and partly sticks out into the breeze.

Jay,

you have used the same "male" Tenax part that I plan to fit to the bodywork, working on the basis that 2 screws holding the thing are better than one and much esier to replace....

I just can't figure out why a folded hood is flapping.
Mine sits very nicely on the parcel shelf, well out of the wind below the tonneau grin2

I would like to make a combined hood cover and parcel shelf cover (fill the space between the hood cover and the seats) I think it could be lightly tensioned to the Tenax studs.

Easy up or Trad?
With my easy up it is the side bits that flap, especially without a tonneau.
