I am working on some ideas for a partial retrim of my Roadster (hopeful courtesy of Williams soon to be trim shop!). One of the things I want to do is improve the rear shelf and in particular the way it is held down. The current ply tabs are very poor.

Excuse the poor photos...taken through a rear window of an E-Type Coupe, of the flush catches it uses. I don't know if they were a standard fitting on E-types and I cannot find them in any of the parts suppliers websites. Has anyone any idea if they are obtainable and from where?

I agree the ply tabs are rubbish - look like they've been made by kids in a primary school craft lesson.

Might be worth looking at chandlers websites , they have a lot of stainless catches etc .

Toomer and Hayter (Marine trimmers) on the south coast. They have that kind of hardware in their online catalogue.

Standard yacht fare. Any chandler should be able to help. You'll get them in stainless too.

Thanks guys. I should have been a bit more explicit when I posted. I've seen the recessed handles before but I meant ones which are catches. The marine suppliers look the best bet.

the E-type ones are just recessed handles, not catches, so I suspect are not what you are looking for.
