Has anyone got any info on what the upgraded compensator consists of.

It's similar in principle to the original compensator, two cylinders end to end with their mating faces formed into three lobes so that they can run up against each other with the torque pulses. One cylinder is spring loaded and they are in a heavy aluminium housing that is packed with grease.
There are quite a few changes to spacers and to materials plus the housing now has a grease nipple to keep it packed and an access port drilled in the bell housing that sits between the engine and the gearbox bell housing..
There is also a rubber coupling similar to a bike cush drive on one end of the compensator.

Great thanks for that. Thought that might be the case. Just had one fitted but seal failed and it lots it's grease. It has a grease nipple fitted so sounds as if this is already an upgraded unit

It may be that the new style unit will more or less continually lose some grease and need topping up but I've only done about 120 miles since mine was fitted and I haven't had a look yet to see if any (or how much)of the grease has oozed its way out. Of course if yours has lost all its grease in one hit that could be a different matter.
Grease for it is Morris K323.

Whilst at the factory on Tuesday I was told that the absolute latest version of the compensator no longer has a grease nipple.
My car has been fitted with the previous version, which does have a grease nipple. Apparently you will hear it making a noise when it needs more grease pumping in.

First you will need to get the grease nipple to line up with the hole in the housing. I haven't had to do this yet but suspect that it involves either a lot of luck when you switch the engine off or taking out the spark plugs so that you can turn the engine over by rocking it in gear till it lines up then get a grease gun on to it. Also suspect that it will involve some bad language when trying to get it to line up.
