Proper windscreen, lockable boot, move oil tank to steering column side to give huge storage space on passenger side' better clips for 'bonnet' so as not to scratch paint. stop bevels knocking in 'float' condition, hood. Sort steering, kick back, bump steer etc. (This I am told is being addressed).Electric heated seat cushions for winter drives. tire pressure monitor for rear tyre. Fixdown the little mat on the driver's side so it does not wander about. Passenger footwell too deep, anpther opportunity for storage, maybe accessed under bonnet ?i

Three other possible improvements:

Since it is necessary to disconnect the battery when leaving the vehicle unused for a few days, especially if one has the immobilizer (which I did not order or want, but the car mysteriously arrived with it), I would like to be able to disconnect the battery more quickly. The system on my 1932 Austin 7 (no, I did not buy it new) was far better.

It is rather surprising, as others have mentioned, that the 'boot' (I think of it as 'the glovebox') is not waterproof. Apart from that, it would be useful if the insert could be removed more quickly - with a maximum of four screws to undo - for rapid access to the stuff beneath.

I'd like to have more modern front wheels, in spoked light alloy, something like the OZ Cattiva R, fitted with tubeless tyres.

Many of the older Morgans have a battery isolation switch mounted and I believe all cars now used in racing must have one fitted.

Aero Racing must supply them for the race equiped cars such as the Plus 4 SS and the Baby Doll so they could probably fit one.

I've been reading this thread and have concluded that rather than offering thoughtful but uninformed suggestions I first need to buy one.

I'm having trouble convincing that this is something I must do as a service to benifit the greater M3W community.

Suggestions, please, on how to close the argument in my favour!

I've just fitted a Battery Brain (type III) with a remote control to disconnect/connect the battery. It seems to work well.

I was thinking that 'Gambalunga' had an excellent solution to the problem, particularly since both my dealer (Marcassus) and my dealer's partner company (Esprit Competition), where my beast will be serviced, are seriously involved in racing.

But the Battery Brain idea looks interesting. Where did you install it?

I've been thinking about the Battery Brain as well having seen it advertised in MOG Mag. Is it a straightforward fitment Chris?

Just had a look at these. Appears to be just a battery cut off circuit. very expensive for what it is. This will not in any way prolong the life of the battery.


I have used the acu mate chargers for many years. you can leave them on all the time and they come with a quick release fused wiring attachment that yo leave on the car. They are also mean to condition the battery, however I am not so sure about this aspect. Buy comercial version, they're better and cheaper even from RS Components.

If you have access to a solar panel. A solar charger/conditioner would be the best and probably most cost effective option.
