Both Morgans on 24/7 conditioners.
My old Golf had the original battery after 12 years and regular conditioning.
But remember to unplug before you drive off............

I've never used a charger/conditioner on my 4/4 (rented garage, with no access to mains) and don't usually have any problem starting even after 2 or 3 weeks. Mind you, the original owner went through 3 batteries in about 5 years, probably a consequence of doing only about 1,000 miles each year. nono Gerry

30 years of Morgans, and all on a Battery Tender except when out on tour, drives, etc. S1s, 4/4s, Plus 8s. Never a concern (about the battery)when leaving the car for lengthy periods. I do suggest you look at the kind of battery conditioner needed as some support the newer gel batteries.

I also keep my CteK conditioner on almost 24/7/52 and have done so for the last 6 years. notworthy

But, I now have a dilemma as I have just won a new, yet to be tried out, 'Battery Fighter' in the last MOG Magazine competition. thumbs

I met a lady ex business colleague recently who was berating swmbo her fair weather Ferrari owning friend because as soon as he puts it away he has to plug it in. When I told her that the expensive Gel Batteries 'die' if allowed to go flat, she sort of understood farmer

I'm thinking of getting a CTEK conditioner even though I drive the 4/4 (current 2013 model)at least weekly. Don't want the fuss of connecting direct to the battery so intend getting the adaptor to plug into the 12volt power outlet. Now that needs to be live all the time and I've no way of testing that save sticking my finger in it! Can someone who knows let me know if it is live please? Also I see CTEK make several types so any view on the best model to go for or any other advice will be most gratefully accepted.

Thanks and best New Year wishes to all
Andy

I haven't a clue as to whether the accessory socket is live all the time, I suspect it may not be, but have you got a voltmeter or a circuit tester you could use to check it?

I wired mine direct to the battery but with a fused circuit.
Can't you plug in an accessory to see if it is live?

I am with Mutley stick a phone charger in.
The power socket on my 2011 plus 4, located under the dash near the glove box is always live.

Forgot to say I bought the CTEK XS3.6, not the basic nor the most complex one, simple to operate and does the job.
