I use CTEK all the time, whenever I park it up. Connected to a switch and cigarette lighter socket under dash.

I have an Optimate mounted on the garage wall and both the 4/4 and my bike have (fused) leads pemanently connected to their respective batteries.
I tend to connect the charger about once a week during the winter.

Been useing one for a long time . I leave the wire in an awkward place just so I dont start the mog with it plugged in.
Checked the battery last week and had to pop a drop of d/water in one cell.

I posted and then forgot to connect up Aldermog!!!

Thanks for the reminders!

Job done, I have her coupled up to the Optimate. Seems that the battery isn't fully charged! So 10 to 14 days does seem to be the limit unless regularly used.

The Optimate is connected to the UPS that keeps our server happy, (simply because it is the most convenient power point) so totally isolated from the Grid by the surge protector in the UPS. That being said the UPS Software mnitors surges and hasn't recoreded one in 5 years...but has picked up a few spikes.

I have a 90Ah Varta battery on my vintage Sunbeam thats 10 years old. The car does not even have a voltage regulator just a cut out . I set the 3 brush dynamo to just cope with head lamps on. There is a 4 position switch, off charge, charge, side lamps & headlamps. I have a battery isolator that I always use when stopped partly as security device as there are no keys. Untill now I have just charged it up occasionally say 2 or 3 times a year. I won the battery fighter from MogMag so just rigged that up. Had a varta battery last 10 years on a 1964 Bentley S3.

What a timely post! Glorious day today so thought I'd take Nero out for a spin. Spin? The engine would barely turn over frown The last time it was out was a week ago for a good run so I'll keep it plugged in to the charger from now on.

:xmastree:I use Battery Tenders on all my cars except daily drivers. Nice to turn the key and fire them up, even after a month of sitting in the garage.

Disapointing...
You really do need a new battery.

The weather here is grey but the forecast for Thursday here is good...so hope to have Aldermog rareing to go with 2 days charging time!
