One Commando and four Triumphs...some I've had for 38 years (since I was in High School). Therefore, I know the difference a spanner and a hide mallet. Now I have to add "bonnet" and "boot" to my proper vocabulary.

I built this one from scratch from left-over parts (parts not suitable for restorations)including frame, front-end, jack-shaft, handlebars, pipes, etc. I bought the rims, bicycle shock (under seat), rear fender blank and tank off FleaBay and the balance I either built or scrounged out of my junk boxes. I call it "Homemade Sin".

That's a tricky one with the M3W, whether you say tomatoes or tomatoes. The rear section is a sort of large non-waterproof glovebox but I have not yet decided what the front part should be called. I did call it a few things before replacing the forward Dzus fasteners with some nice chromed spring clips.

Zachybilly

I'll have to check to see if the oil lines on mine are chafing. The previous owner of yours has emphasised the danger of buying without a test drive/ride. If he had those problems would have been evident. At least he ended up with a good solution and you have joined the 'enlightened'.

The upper panel behind the engine and up to the screens is the cowl, not the bonnet. Bonnets cover engines.

That's how in goes in the two and three speeder world, but since the five speeder appeared, quite a few printed examples of the panel being called a bonnet exist.
