I recently checked the socket on my 2013 4/4 for the same reason and it is live with the ignition turned off.

So a simple 12v socket solution might be live to battery with an in-line fuse and to earth.

I use a CTEK unit with a fly lead permanently attached to the battery and routed into the passenger compartment - takes seconds to connect/ dis-connect and avoids the bonnet removal saga

So the Morgan battery will trickle charge the same Morgan battery?
