WE have no service manual to really completely guide us. Besides changing oil and filter, what else should / must be done at 500 miles. Any difference in the Harley synthetic oil vs Mobile One?

I'd go around and check all the nuts and bolts are still tight.

Check the wear, if any on the bobbin mounts on the rectifier and exhaust side mountings. Replace if spilts in the rubber are appearing.
My rectifier mounts last approx 500 miles and the exhaust ones approx 1000 miles.

RTCC changed my bevel box oil too. Cannpot recommend a full nut and bolt check enough, as I had wishbones that were sufficiently lose to allow some 5mm of fore and aft movement. Assume nothing with these cars I think!

H-D do a "special" V twin oil - fully synthetic - not sure what the difference would be.
On the face of it Oil is pretty straightforward stuff - until u talk to an expert!!Then it gets kinda complex!!
IMO the Mobil 1 Bike oil will do the business - BUT not 2 stroke!!

Ok great,so the four stroke mobil 1 will do the job.
I had the h-d oil,but the dealer is low on it,so they are using it for their bikes at service only.they arent selling it.
