That is fine if you never leave your home country. Do you want to pay roaming data charges just to listen to the radio?

I couldn't agree with you more Jays. Where I live I can't receive 3G and the basic service I get is unreliable frequently disappearing. I often think I'm in a communication black hole as I also get rubbish broadband speed of round about 1mb at a time that BT are spending big money on advertising 'infinity' which I'm no where near getting. The absence of decent broadband is becoming a real problem as so much is only available through the internet now.

Must go and polish the Morgan and calm down.

Andy

That is exactly what I am talking about!
I believe that both the sound of music and the music of the my vMog are complementary. carrot

Indeed. All these innovations seem to be focused on providing service to urban areas. Round our way DAB is patchy, 3G is non existent, and as for 4G, forget it.

Exactly, 4.5 miles from Salisbury Cathedral we have one 2G Cell base station, Broadband that is just OK but doesn't have a date for Fibre upgrade, DAB is limited to the main national network and iffy Digital TV so Sky is the only option.

But we live in the country so we don't matter.

I experimented with a Boss 4 channel car amp off of Ebay and wired up some surround sound pods placed on the rear shelf. I am afraid to say that I found it not very successful when driving verging on useless on anything above 30MPH. I think this is because as we all no Morgans get a lovely rear wind wash and this will obviously have a direct impact on musical waves in the air from rear speakers.

I resorted to a compromised a Sony DAB/Radio head unit with USB input for iPhone/memory stick (about £120 from Halfords) and then I sourced some 4 inch circular pod speakers that I mounted down the footwell and pointed up towards the centre of the car. It sound good stationery or at speed up to about 50mph, beyond that its lost in the general noise wash with the roof off. I think that this will be the case for most systems in a Morgan.

By the way I found an extendable DAB aerial that stick fixed to the windscreen one side and has a pad the other to transfer the signal, no drilling and very unobtrusive and works well.

cheers

Many thanks for your input Adrian : would you happen to have a couple of pictures of the speakers installed? What make and model please?

Cheers,

Like these but 3 way, and larger on bracket

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Retro-...=item1c3b49612a

or like these
https://www.wilcodirect.co.uk/product/car-speakers/rms620-2-way-pod-speakers-pair-of-2

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Caravan-Truck-Speakers-Mounting-Brackets/dp/B0032EYL42

There are a few around just mount down the foot well, round of 4-5" square should fit, go for best quality £25-40 innocent, anything more will be a waste of dose in a Morgan, in my opinion for what its worth.

If they do not do it for you you can always get into upgrading.

cheers

For those interested this is the DAB aerial I use and usually only have half extended, when in use, which is sufficient.

DAB Aerial

This is the exact one, the aerial pad that sticks to the glass is about 30mm square, mine is on the passenger side bottom corner and the cable from the inside one runs under the leather on the dash and then under the dash to the unit, no drilling.
