20% is not bad.......... Peter - I was contemplating a neoprene seal at the bulkhead, because you can see where the water has collected under the ecu. I'm also wondering about covering the 'cover' with 'Reflect-a-Cool' to reduce the ingesss of radiated heat, since the exhaust is on the same side. PS Two heater drains right next to the box isn't a great idea!!!

I don't know what the top one is but aircon condensed water only seems to come from the bottom. I bought some silicon tube to lead it down near the gearbox. It would be easy to install while you have the ECU cover off.
I don't think heat is a huge problem but it may be worth putting 'Reflect-a-Cool' while you are on the job. I found the front bonnet release almost too hot to touch one day so it does get hot in there.

Have Williams been able to reprogram the Zetec (black top) ECU? I can't see why we can't Hi Lawrie I am VERY interested in anything that might make me gain time up the hill. Ever since I joined TM I've been reading, with great interest, all I can about improving a - so far 100% stock - 2010 Plus 4 that I proud myself of being a true "race it sunday, drive it monday" kind of car. So I wouldn't want anything too extreme, but I wonder if this ECU reprograming could add something to what already is an excellent car, well balanced and very easy to race up any decently twisted hill road. Anyways, I do have a problem. I live in Portugal, so does the car and I suppose this ECU reprogramming you guys do requires getting the car there, isn't it? Thanks in advance

I don't suppose there is any ECU mapping magic that can be worked on a 92 Rover M16 is there?

Returning to topic......... This photo shows a new piece of neoprene wrapped around the electrical connection to the ECU. Just behind it are the two heater drain tubes. Not ideal........... From the inside of the heater box: Nearside. Offside. So the upper drain serves no purpose unless you get over an inch of water in there................... I fitted the rubber bulb from an eye dropper over the top one, and some drain tube over the lower one. The angle is tight, but this is better than having the heater drain over the ECU box. I can blow through the tube so its not blocked. I also fitted this drain tube to the Roadster way back. Only one each side though, and two at the front. Neoprene seal on rear of cover: And here it is back together, with Reflect-a-Cool applied. I then turned to the other side, and did the same.......... Where there's a lot more room. I smartened up the two front drains by adding a small length of rubber tube cut at a jaunty angle. Finally the flow of water in the plastic tank. First at rest: Then when revving, the right hand section draws coolant into the engine, whereas the left hand side takes coolant from the engine. Note the flow pattern. Quite interesting.

Neat job, as usual It would be so easy for Morgan to at least put in the cover gaskets and the drain tube in production.

Was the second drain hole drilled by accident?

I believe the second holes may be for aircon when fitted.
Incidentally, with my fan running, if I press the spare dash button - top right - the aircon light on the dash lights up.
Maybe I have a micro system which I haven't found yet........
