It looks as though Cain has moved the column stalks inward as well......they are the thing that stops the wheel going forward a decent amount.

Like the cockpit by the way Cain, very purposeful for the job in hand. I had the same passenger footrest in my 4/4, very useful for stowing things behind as well as stopping my short-arse passenger from sliding forward under heavy braking. Just pondering over whether or not fitting it in the Roadster.

Cain, I have never really tried Flickr myself but it seems to work fairly well. Mine comes up in Italian because of the settings of my computer but the words will be fairly similar.

The instructions apply to Windows but on a Mac you can highlight the text and then use command c to copy and command v to post text instead of right click, or use ctrl click and that is the same as a right click and will bring up the pop-up menu.

In this case if you go to your album page on Flickr and click on Mog Cockpit so that it is the only photo on the screen (not the enlarged version) you will see a symbol on the bottom like this:
If you hover over it a hint will come up that says something like "Other methods of sharing". Click on that and then click on the link that says something like "Recuperate HTML/BBCode".
Next click on the radio button underneath that labelled "BBCode". That produces the text in the box that the TM forum software uses. (The are simple versions of this text but the Flickr version is rather nice as it includes all the links). Right click with your mouse on the text and select copy from the pop-up menu (if all the text is not automatically selected you must highlight all the text first).

Return to your post in TM, click at the point where you want to insert the photo, the right click and select paste from the pop-up menu.

The following code will be inserted in your post (without the "code" tags naturally)
Code:
[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/116051653@N07/12242439916/][img]http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3790/12242439916_3a55c9eb6d.jpg[/img][/url]
[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/116051653@N07/12242439916/]MOG COCKPIT[/url] of [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/116051653@N07/]cainpoulton[/url], on Flickr

The end result is this:

MOG COCKPIT of cainpoulton, on Flickr

If you don't want the links just use the part which starts and finishes with the img tags in square brackets as in the code below:

Code:

I have only removed the cowl to get more room no stalks were harmed in fitting of the boss!!

The foot rest is mounted on a alloy tray topped with ribbed rubber mat like on the original drivers carpets .
The alloy tray has sides folded up and fits snugly in the foot well with holes at the carpet press studs so the rubber mat can press stud into position, and on side uses the same idea on the gear box tunnel upholstery. It does not move But can be lifted out if I become a passenger or when not rallying we put the carpets back.

Photos to follow ooo at some point

Just measured the distance from the back face of the wheel rim to the padded scuttle edge: 7.2cm

Moving the wheel back by 2.5cm or 1" would not make the gap too small and would make a big difference to arm comfort.
I have quite small hands so for me moving it back 3.5cm would be fine, but not for all.

Had an issue with the steering wheels on my Plus 8's - Just couldn't get my legs comfortably and safely underneath them. So...., took off the Brooklands and that bloody awful looking factory Morgan wheel and sourced a couple of replacements from "Supercheap" (of all places),fiddled with the boss's,added some bling, managed to match the finish to the dashboards and now a comfortable fit

For those interested, "Ebony" is a 1974 Plus 8, wires, low profile tyres, straight through exhausts and goes like s**t off a shovel, and "Ivory" is a 1980 Plus 8, but a little more refined to keep "her indoors" happy
