Thanks Hugh and Blake!

Luckily, although the Caterham is a true lightweight, it does need motive power, otherwise Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble would have had the right idea.

When I bought my car the previous owner had fitted the incorrect engine, and I've now sourced the correct engine, simple as that. A bit like buying a Morgan Three Wheeler with a HD engine, instead of the S&S.

I've heard the exhausts on your car - do you think the soundproofing will make a big difference? laugh

Blissfully unaware of any tapping, knocking, squeaks or rattles, policewoman (person) not very happy though, I had to turn the engine off to hear her complain about the noise, she sort of believed me when I explained about the noise bouncing of the tall buildings in Southend-on-sea... innocent Either that or it was my dashing good looks grin2 Once I'd removed the flying hat, face mask and goggles!

The sound proofing material seemed to reduce the temperature on the prop tunnel, although this was only tested via the touch method I couldn't find a grub screw to remove so I could insert my probe.

I finally had a moment to make an entry about my cockpit sealing adventure. Yes it was worth the time.
